iseg Hardware Abstraction Layer

The iseg Hardware Abstraction Layer (isegHAL) is a software library for Windows and Linux to control and monitor iseg high voltage devices over several different communication interfaces.

The currently supported interfaces are:

• EDCP protocol over CAN bus
• Linux: All CAN interfaces compatible to SocketCAN
• Windows: Peak and Systec CAN interfaces compatible to QtSerialBus
• SCPI protocol over RS-232/USB/Ethernet
• RS-232: Using hardware RS-232 connection
• USB: Using FTDI or CDC-ACM USB-serial ports
• Ethernet: Using standard TCP/IP drivers

All iseg devices compatible to the EDCP/CAN respectively SCPI/EDCP protocol are isegHAL compatible. In some cases a device firmware update is needed.
